Beit Kavkaz is a growing community rooted in Southeast Michigan, dedicated to celebrating and preserving the rich traditions of the Kavkazi (Mountain Jewish) people.
Our name — Beit Kavkaz, "House of the Caucasus" — reflects our mission: to create a welcoming home for anyone connected to Juhuri heritage, whether by birth, family, or curiosity. We gather to share language, food, music, history, and the enduring spirit of our ancestors.

Keeping the Juhuri language alive for future generations.
The Juhuri — also known as the Mountain Jews or Kavkazi Jews — are one of the oldest Jewish communities in the world, with roots stretching back over a thousand years in the Caucasus Mountains of present-day Azerbaijan and Dagestan.
Juhuri, the Judeo-Tat language, is a living link to our past — a blend of ancient Persian, Hebrew, and Aramaic that carries the poetry, proverbs, and prayers of our forebears. Today, as communities have spread across the globe, preserving this language and culture has never been more important.
Through gatherings, storytelling, music, and shared meals, Beit Kavkaz works to ensure that the warmth and wisdom of Juhuri heritage continues to thrive — right here in Michigan.
